Smart Meter Info!

September 23, 2024

Harris County MUD 82 recently completed the installation of new smart water meters for each residence within the District.  These meters are designed to replace traditional water meters and offer a range of benefits that can help to improve water management, reduce water waste, and save consumers money on their water bills. Unlike traditional water meters, which require manual readings and can only provide data on a monthly basis, smart water meters offer real-time monitoring of water usage. This means that water providers and consumers can receive accurate data on water usage at any given time and can use this data to manage water usage more effectively.

Residents are strongly encouraged to utilize all of the features and benefits of the new smart meters!  Featuring both a user-friendly website and app that’s available for iPhone and Android users, EyeOnWater is the cloud-based portal that will quickly connect each resident to their own water usage.  Through these platforms, residents will have the opportunity to monitor their water usage more closely and identify ways to reduce water waste. For example, if a homeowner notices that their water usage is unusually high, they can investigate and identify the cause, such as a leaky faucet or an inefficient appliance. By addressing these issues, homeowners can reduce their water usage and save money on their water bills.

Smart water meters offer a range of benefits that can help to improve water management, reduce water waste, and promote water conservation. Please sign up for EyeOnWater and help ensure a sustainable and efficient water supply for generations to come!
